HOW IT WORKS

How do I download the Tuk Tuk App ?

To download our app, just scan the QR code located on the scooter , and you will automatically be directed to the download page of your smartphone. You can also download “Tuk Tuk” on the Google Play or App Stores on your smart phone. .

How do I locate a Tuk Tuk?

Open the App - Go to the Map - Look for Closest Scooter and Click on It. It will Show the Coordinates.

How do I unlock a Tuk Tuk?

To unlock a Tuk Tuk, just open the App and Touch the “Ride” button on the screen. Next, either scan the QR code by using your Smart phone’s camera, or you may type in the _5__-digit code, which is located above the QR code.

Where may I ride a Tuk Tuk?

Tuk Tuk scooters can be ridden anywhere that a bicycle can lawfully be ridden. In most communities, that includes bike lanes, bike paths, and on city streets. Please do not ride on city sidewalks, and respect all local traffic laws. For more information on where you may ride your Tuk Tuk, see our help page.

Where may I park a Tuk Tuk?

When your ride is complete, please park your Tuk Tuk where it will be safe, and where it will not endanger pedestrians or motorist. As a courtesy and safety measure do not park on private property, do not block sidewalks, do not park in pedestrian and service ramps, do not block bus stops,or obstructbuildingentrances. How do I end my ride?

After you have found a safe and appropriate public place to park your Tuk Tuk, open your Tuk Tuk App and click on “End Ride.” Once the ride is completed, the App will give you a summary of your trip, and the charges.

PAYMENT

How Much does it cost to ride a Tuk Tuk?

It costs $1 to unlock the scooter, and $0.20 per minute.

How am I billed for a ride?

When you sign up for Tuk Tuk, you enter your valid credit card information into your profile. We will bill that card for your ride.

PRIVACY

How does Tuk Tuk Protect my privacy and data?

Tuk Tuk respects your privacy, and is dedicating to securing your information. We do not sell your information with third parties, absent a subpoena or a lawful request. For more information , please see our Privacy Policy here.

Why does Tuk Tuk access my phone’s camera?

Tuk Tuk’s App uses your camera to capture the scooter’s QR code in order to unlock the scooter.

Why does Tuk Tuk take my GPS location?

Tuk Tuk uses your GPS location to help you find the Tuk Tuk scooter closest to your location.

SAFETY

Do I have to wear a helmet to ride a Tuk Tuk Scooter?

California law requires anyone under 18 to wear a helmet when riding a scooter, skateboard or when using inline skates. Note that our Terms of Use policy prohibits riders under 18 years old. For more information regarding authorized riders, see our Terms of Use Policy here. For your safety, Tuk Tuk strongly recommends that all riders wear a proper helmet at all times during the ride.

What should I do before a ride to make sure the Tuk Tuk scooter is safe, and in working order?

Tuk Tuk recommends that you do just a “BIT”before you ride . . .
(1) ) apply the Brakes to make sure that they grab tightly;
(2) Inspect the scooter for cracks, dents, or other damage; and
(3); roll the scooter forward to make sure the Tires are not damaged, and that they spin freely.
If the scooter does not pass this BIT check, please notify us immediately on the App, so that Tuk Tuk may repair the scooter.

TRIP / FARE ISSUES

  • How do I review my last trip receipt?

    When the trip ends, select "Ride History" from the app menu. Next, select past ride. This will allow you to review the start location, final location, and the trip's route. For a full account of your fare, touch the Receipt icon on the App.

  • How do I dispute a fare?

    If you believe that your trip fare is not accurate, please contact our customer support at:help@tuktukscooters.com for further help.

  • COMMON RIDE ISSUES.

    Contact us here if any of the following have occurred:
    (1) trip started with a damaged scooter;
    (2) the scooter is locked, but the trip is being charged;
    (3) you cannot end the trip; or
    (4) you forgot to lock the scooter.

  • SAFETY

    Checking your Scooter before the ride

  • Riding the streets safely

    For your own safety and that of others, you must follow all local traffic laws. That includes but is not limited to stopping at traffic lights, riding with the direction of traffic, putting your phone and other devices away when you ride, and adhering to speed limits.

  • Accidents / Emergencies

    (1)• If you have an accident, and you or another person requires immediate medical attention, please call 911. If you are not injured, remain at the scene of the accident, safely way from motorist and pedestrian traffic. As soon as all parties are out of harm’s way, please contact us at help@tuktukscooters.com
    (2) • If you require immediate police attention for any reason, please call 911. After the police or authorities have been notified, please contact us at: help@tuktukscooters.com

  • My Tuk Tuk is broken

    If you have any problems with the scooter that make you or your trip unsafe, or otherwise interferes with the trip, please stop riding immediately. Please report the problem to customer serviceat : support@tuktukscooters.com.

5.0 TROUBLESHOOTING

I can’t find a Tuk Tuk that appears on my App’s map?

First, please make sure that you have good reception. Next, look in al nearby public spaces. Sometimes the scooters are behind trees, structures, or other vehicles. If you still cannot find the scooter, please choose another Tuk Tuk nearby and let us know about the that hard to find scooterby contacting us at : help@tuktukscooters.com.

I can’t unlock a Tuk Tuk?

You can normally unlock the scooter either by scanning the QR code. If it is too dark, you may unlock the scooter by entering its ID number in the App
If that does not work, the scooter is probably out of batteries, under maintenance or in use by another rider. In any event, please try another Tuk Tuk nearby.
If someone has damaged the QR code, damaged the scooter, has paced a lock on the scooter, or the scooter is simply not working,
please contact us at: help@tuktukscooters.com.

Why am I still being charged after I end the ride and lock the scooter?

• You might not have locked the scooter correctly. Sometimes it takes a minute for the trip to finish processing after locking the scooter. Your patience is appreciated. If it is still charging, please try closing and restarting the App
If none of the above corrects the problem, please contactcustomer service at:support@tuktukscooters.com. we will refund the excess charge(s).

• 5.0 GETTING STARTED

Finding a Tuk Tuk

Open the App, and find the closest Tuk Tuk Scooter.
Starting the scooter.
Use the Tuk Tuk app to scan the scooter’s QR code or enter the 5 digit number to unlock the ride. Next, kick start the Scooter for a few feet, then press on the throttle near your right thumb to pick up speed (not too fast ). Squeeze the brake to slow down when needed. Do not ride on sidewalks.

Parking and Locking your Scooter
When your ride is complete, be kind to others, and park your Tuk Tuk at an easily accessible public area without blocking sidewalks, entries, ramps, public rights of way, in traffic, in front of bus stops, or in handicap or emergency areas. Remember, be kind and respectful to your community. After the Tuk Tuk is safely and appropriately parked, touch "End Ride" on the app to lock the scooter.

Rules and Conditions. To ride a Tuk Tuk, you must agree to our Terms of Service here. Included in that terms of Service are a few basic rules and conditions.


  1. You must be 18 years or older to ride a Tuk Tuk;
  2. One rider per Tuk Tuk;
  3. Obey all traffic laws; and the fourth rule of Tuk Tuk;
  4. Ride at your own risk.

8.0 JOINING TUK TUK

• Creating an account. Sign up for Tuk using your phone number. You will then receive a SMS with the verification code. Enter the verification code to finish signing up.

• Forgot Password - At Tuk Tuk’s login page, click “forgot password”. You will receive a text with the link to reset your password.

9.0 PRICING AND PAYMENTS

How Much does it cost to ride a Tuk Tuk?

It costs $1 to unlock the scooter, and $0.25 per minute.
How am I billed for a ride?
When you sign up for Tuk Tuk, you entered your valid credit card information into your profile. We will bill that card for your ride.
Incorrect charges.
If you see an unfamiliar Tuk Tuk charge on your credit card, submit a request in the app and we investigate the issue, and adjust the charge accordingly.
What if my Tuk Tuk is stolen during my ride?
You would only be responsible for replacement costs if you did not lock the scooter after your trip.
